Of course I am! How can one not be a little scatterbrained and less organized with 3 kids! I love organizing in my pretty baskets and containers...but the better question is, once I do it how long do they leave their things alone long enough for me to enjoy it. LOL. That's right for me to enjoy it. I think of myself as a happy, free spirit, who tries to enjoy life .....while being slightly a ditz at times. Seriously...if you're a perfectionist and want to judge me on the fact that I run late or have toys in my living room...we're just not going to work as friends. LOL...that's right. Oooh
Dr. Calm would be so proud of me for telling my friends my true feelings! I used to suck it up and be a total people pleaser. I'm trying to shed the Super Woman exterior and be happy with myself and my imperfections. WOW...am I reflecting this morning or what! Who knew a little personality test would do this to me?!

I'm guessing the coffee is helping me to fire up the brain this morning!
Ok friends...

Way Back Wednesday!

The picture quality sucks! I just wanted to be part of Way Bay Wednesday. LOL. I had to take a picture of my 7th grade yearbook! I'm a total dork...yes we already know that. For some reason I never hooked the scanner up to my little wireless laptop. Soooooo too much to handle to hook up to it today.

A thought and a joke!

Well, yesterday I was nostaligic. No kidding, huh. LOL! Well I ended up at Dr. Calm today and he said all my nostalgia and dreams was just my innerself reacting to my stress. Hmmmm. Whatever, but he really does help on most days.

Did you guys know that I don't have to be "everyone's" glue. Cracking up here. Hmmm, I don't think the counters would get wiped or dishwasher emptied if I didn't. Who would wash the towels after the pool and make sure the kids were sunscreened up. :) Ok, but I do get his whole point. I need to find time for me. Easier said from a single man with no children..I'm guessing. I even had to explain the whole Julie McCoy thing. LOL. Oh please.

Oh hey...want to hear the joke my 10 year old learned at church camp? I knew you did.

A 3 year old boy asked his mommy if he could hop in the shower with her.
She said sure...just don't look up or down.
He did and asked what are those...she said those two things are headlights.
Then he looked down and said...what is that?
She said it was grass.
The shower was soon over.
Then his dad hopped in the shower and he hopped in with the daddy.
Daddy what's that?
Oh...it's a snake.
Later that night he went in his parents' room and asked if he could hop in bed with them.
The mom said sure but he had to keep his eyes to himself.
Finally he screamed,"Hey Mommy turn on the headlights...the snake is in your grass."

Delightful! At church camp! Yep!
LOL!

A huge what if?

So...I know we're not supposed to focus on the past. I just think it's so amazing how many of us how huge "What If's" that have happened in our lives. Some of us took the other road and have amazing happiness. Others of us took the well traveled path and happy too. It just makes me wonder about that other path.

LOL...ok maybe it led to a pile of crap over the hill and around the bend. It just has been making me think about it lately. The one choice that changed the course of our lives. Hmmmm deep thoughts, huh? I'm sipping a cocktail or two and waiting for the fireworks. LOL! GO figure.

Mmmmm I'm in that kind of mood. Thinking waaaay too much.

Feel free my darlings to comment on the curvy roads taken. :)

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!!!

I woke up this morning dragging my sun soaked tired self to the coffee maker. I pulled out the yummy Blue Mountain Coffee and it was so good. I turned on CNN and watched the Comet pictures and then watched how the little girl in Idaho was found! Now, they've found another lost member of the special ops Seal Team. I love good news!!

Then my husband and I listened to Bush continue to relate 9/11 to Iraq. Oh...I started with my sarcastic smartass comments. My hubby stopped me in my tracks. If you don't already know..My parents were hippies. I'm quite a bit more liberal than my Marine hubby. In college...who knew what the future would be like. Now, however...here we are. He did say in a complete non smartass tone that Today wasn't the day to mock Bush or the war. I have my days when I love Bush and when I hate Bush. Some days I'm a non liberal with just liberal tendancies...others I'm the daughter of those former hippies. Oh yeah...and my hippy father is now a "Rocket Scientist." Oh how life changes. So, after that exchange I agreed. I would shut up. We're lucky to be Americans. SOOOOO LUCKY!

I LOVE THAT WE CAN MAKE OUR LIVES WHATEVER WE WANT. WE CONTROL OUR OWN DESTINY.

Thanks to our brave founders we have FREEDOM!
We have the Freedom to:

Oh and of course...BLOG!
Happy 4th my sweet friends! I hope you're all having a wonderful day and forgive me for my sappy moment. I'm just feeling quite patriotic today!

11PM....And guess what I'm doing?

So, it's 11 PM and here I am....watching the NASA channel. The hubby thought it would be fun to sit here and watch NASA to see if we'll be able to see the "DEEP IMPACT."

Moment by moment....

*Guys in polos sitting looking at computers.
*Guys still looking at the computer.

Hmmmm....
*Video of guys clapping. Hmmmm no impact.

You've got it girlies...lovely fun! We did have a great day of fun in the sun and I'm listening to early firworks outside. The dog is going crazy! I am laughing and being totally sarcastic. It's funny how different men and women are. Aaaahhhhh and life goes on.

Anyone having better fun?!

A book..lol

Look how many comments you girlies are giving me these days! I started to type in the comments below and thought screw it! I'll just type a new post.

One more thing about the bikini thing..LOL..yes a broken record. Marie hit the nail on the head. It's the 30's thing and 3 kids! These boobies are not hanging low, but let me say...just not as perky as in my young days. Boobies in your 20's are just tighter and up more. You know? LOL.

Marie...Dodgers or Angels game anytime babe. You name the one. I spent many a smoldering day in Angel stadium soaked. LOL. Those were the days before the rally monkeys and when we lost. LOL. At least you can drink beer and not have to worry about icees and princesses complaining. :) However at AAA games they have Thirsty Thursdays. LOL $1 beers until the end of the 5th inning. How funny is that?

Diana...my sweet young young young Diana. Two kids and 10 years ago I was strutting it babe. :) Wear it hunny! Show off that tummy ring?

Ok and Mama D my hubby told me something hilarious. He said that men are just so natural with the bbq. He then proceeded to tell me how it has to be inherited from caveman days. Meat and fire. Yes...hunter and gatherers they are!

Peanutt...fix your blog..LOL! I tryed typing comments today and it sooo didn't work. I do love the new look! NO pink, though? Ugh...but I love love love TINK!

See I told you girlies it was too much for the comments section.

Oh and if anyone was wondering, how does a quick trip to Target for my smut and tylenol turn into $43. Oh that's right, the kids talk me into a little "toy" every time. :)

Bye Sweeties,
Christie

I think I'm back on schedule!

I don't know if it's the heat or the hubby being home, but my routine is totally off. It's probably just summer and all the "activities" that Julie "Christie" McCoy..the cruise director has planned for the kids.

I have discovered a few things over the last few days!

1. There is nothing wrong with being Bikini Worthy! I want to wear one! I'm going to have to work on it. You know, when we were younger (or at least Marie, Peanutt and myself) our bikini bottoms game a little higher. Now, they're all butt crack low! Soooooo, I'm thinking a little more core work, a little less white bread, a few more miles on the treadmill and I might be there. Oh no..I'm not self absorbed for vain!
2. Men are clueless when it comes to kids and heat. Last night we went to a baseball game. It was only the hottest day of the year and we had second row seats at the local AAA game...woohoo..can you hear the sarcasm?! It was fun, though. Here's the thing. My husband looked at Ava and myself and said,"Listen...You two need to not be Princesses right now..you're not going to melt. " Note to all of you...we were melting. Ava wasn't going to stop until Daddy went and got here a "Red" Icee! My Diet Coke was in hand too. He only had room for one $1 beer! LOL. So he went back for more.

And finally...

3. I love my blogging friends. You guys are all so fun, here when a pick me up is sooo needed and bright spots that really work to lighten up the day! Thank you guys!

Life is back to normal. Hubby is working, I'm being the Mommy and the kids ask when we're going to the pool every 5 minutes (literally.)

A few thoughts for the day...
*Who else is their Mother's Therapist? It's exhausting. Trust me.
*How many bikini wearing Mama's are there out there? I don't know. I want to wear one, but for some reason regardless of the hot body or not body...a bikini at a kids pool just doesn't make sense to me. I'm soooooo far from a prude...trust me, but showing off the abs for the kids...I don't get it. What's up with advertising yourself as a MILF? Now, if I were at a beach with adults or tanning, on a cruise...that would be soooo different. With my luck my son would hop on my back and my boobies would come flying out.
*Why do I hate bubbles and having the kids blow them all over the deck? Hmmm maybe because I'm the one who ends up blowing them all the time and the sticky hands are just all over the mommy.
*Who has discovered drink a nice Riesling is a wonderful way to unwind at night. It doesn't hit like a red wine...it's just smoothe, light, and slightly sweet.
*Why must my boy continually check to see if his penis is present? LOL!!!! Help me now!
*Hmmmm...oh and let me say...I got in my 10,000 steps yesterday!!!!!!! I did 3.8 miles on the treadmill.

Nothing else really...that's enough!

Happy Tuesday!

WoooHoooo! Happy Tuesday! I say this, because yesterday was a long long day.

Well the hubby is home and the princess is off to camp. I have Frick and Frack left here with me and we're having a good time. Today we're going to Target (that place loves my money) for a new suit for the girlie and I'm feeling like a new one, too. Hmmm Note to all...All bathing suits will be 50% off at Kohls tomorrow. That's a good thought!

We're going swimming, getting a little sun, and doing lessons today. I need to get my 10,000 steps in, so I'll do it before we go swimming. I love my Y!!! Free childcare! Need I say more?

The hubby stocked up on wine yesterday. So, needless to say, I was a little toasted last night. Totally by accident, of course. :) He bought this great new wine (for us at least.) It's called Koala Blue and it's a nice Australian Shiraz. Mmmm. It has the cutest blue bottle. It made for a toated Christie Monday night.

I hope you're all well. I need to go, because the little shopper is ready!

She's Growing Up...

Tomorrow morning brings my oldest 10 1/2 year old the day she's been waiting for all year? She is heading for sleep away camp!!!!!!

All together now....Scream! It's with church, but it's coed and let me tell you there are hormones running! I'm excited for her, though. I remember my days way back when and going to Girl Scout camp. :) LOL...yes I was a Girl Scout until I was in 6th grade. I'm just glad she has somewhere she loves to go and a camp that will give me one less child during the week! Woohooo! Yes ladies, I'm cheering thinking that 2 kiddies are soooooooooo easy.

Just wait my dear friends until they ask you where the baby comes out of...the pee pee or the butt. Yep, I got that one during the week. Or when the boy says hey Mommy my pee pee is growing again, as he has the Lava Girl happy mean toy in the waist of his pants using it as a weapon. Oh, and when the middle one comes down and tells me that the older one is a liar, because she says boys that kiss boys are gay. Yep...all in the span of a few days. Welcome to my world...and someday yours!

Ok, back to camp! I was lucky if I had matching outfits!!!!! This camp list has everything on it! However, no bikinis for the girl, they get a super soaker water gun..! She's on the Purple team...so we need lots of purple things. Hmmmm, and imagine if you had a boy he'd be on the boy's purple team. LOL..that makes the girls crack up, but not as much as the Pink Team does.

Let's not forget the hubby is coming home today and we're all excited. The thing he doesn't know is that on the way home we're heading right to TARGET!!! LOL..not his favorite place. I don't get it, but it's true. Poor poor men, they have no idea what they're missing!

Talk to you soon!

JUST ADD SOME HOT SHOES....

Alright you OBA Members..founding members of course...Here's the top. Don't you think it would look so totally adorable with some cute little hottie shoes.

Now, I'm not sure we'll remember bar protocol. You know those of us that are entirely involved with children. That's why we have our SINGLE CUTIE Marie to show us the ropes again. LOL.

How fun does that sound. Dreams are good girlies...but I sooo need a little getaway by the end of summer! Mmmm! Ok, I'm in dream mode. You guys are so fun!

OBA Blogger Balooza....

I've been thinking! Dangerous...We know!

You know how our hubbies go on business trips, seminar trips, blah blah blah....well we need that too! Who else thinks so? I know those of us that are hard core OBA members...we do! WE are the founding members. We could make a "Seminar" of it. You know the kind of seminar where you go, gab, booze it up, soak up the sun....and gab some more. There will be no "but mommy", or poonamis, no girl on girl action with Barbies, and no hubbies or boyfriends needing us home to change a diaper or wonder if we have any clean towels. There will be serious OBA time. LOL!

How good does that sound? Come on...Ebay-ers have there Ebay convention. Why not have a Bloggers Balooza. We can start with the founders...lol. Then let it grow and sell the tshirts..make a little moola to add to the allowance stash! Such thoughts I'm having. It must be a manic moment!

Ok..we can dream my dear friends. It does sound so fun, though! Mama Duck has the local and a beach:)!

Books....

Thank you F for the Meme. I'm a book whore. Yes..I am. These are some of my current favorites.
1) Number of books I own: Hundreds
2) Last book I bought: The Mermaid Chair, Susan Monk Kidd
3) Last book I read: Girls Poker Night, Jill Davis
4) Books that mean a lot to me: Canterbury Tales, Chaucer... Hidden Coast of California, Just because... Good in Bed; In her Shoes; Little Earthquakes all by Jennifer Weiner I love anything by her.... He's Just Not That Into You, Greg Behrendt & Liz Tuccillo and Pat The Bunny, the first book I read to my babies.
I'm tagging anyone who wants to...

YOU ARE ALL WONDERFUL!!!!!

I have to tell you all...Thank you! The only thing that sucks is that we are all so spread out! Did you all think we'd connect with such a wonderful group of Funny, hot, intelligent, sweet....always ready for a cocktail group of women? We need to have a Bloggers Anonymous weekend. LOL.

Just know that with each entry you all just perked me up. I had nothing. I felt low and tired. You guys are great.

All right. Now, take notes. The cure last night was the kids' bedtime, a simple glass of wine to soothe the nerves, then some microwave popcorn (even though I was craving chocolate) and a nice diet coke! This mommy/calm woman is feel much better.

Ok...Who's next....? :) We're all here for you Sweetie!

Tuesday, June 21, 2005

Yes...I'm a loser!

So, my dear friends...it's been a busy busy day. I had my appointment with "Dr. Calm"...figure that one out smart ones. It went well. He's the one who helps to keep me "calm" during the witching hour! My children should really thank him. LOL.

However, the calmness has eluded me right now. This is the time of day I call the "Witching Hour."
I am on edge...they're running around literally, the boy was in the backyard and he wet himself completely with the hose, and my girls are playing hide and seek that includes a nice dose of fighting. Ugh.

Calgon take this mommy away. I did have a girlfriend call me and say we need to go on a getaway without the kids or hubbies. How good does that sound.

I know I'm grumpy and venting...but I'm sorry. I just want the kids fed, in bed sleeping sweetly and to watch my ATWT and General Hospital that I tivo'd! Girlie yes, but I sooo don't care.
All of this and I'm out of Diet Coke! UGH!

So, I was cooking dinner. Then I realized I just couldnt' do it. I mean...I sooooo can't seem to get it together. So, I'm going to have to get them something. Loser, yes...but that's just what's going to happen.

I'll be back and hopefully post something to say that I've recovered from my meltdown. Oh and words to the Spiderman boys trying to be Luke Skywalker. When you hit the ceiling fan, standing on the couch arm, with your light saber...something is going to fly!

:)

I DID IT AGAIN......

I went to bed entirely too late. I was sooo into my TIVO'd CSI (they show a bunch of them on the weekend) that I totally lost track of the fact that I have early risers. Yep..my kids who know nothing about sleeping in past 6ish.

So, as I was watching CSI, I decided to revamp the ringers on the cell. That's right..something that couldnt' wait. Oh yeah, I have great ringers on the phone to distinguish all my friends and family. I love it.

Monday Monday.....and my coffee is yummy. I hope your days are starting out as decent as mine is. The paper is awaiting me and the kids are asking for food. LOL..go figure. One wants cheerios, one wants french toast and the other one is just pissy because she doesn't like milk or eggs. Hmmm. Who knew after all that education I'd be a short order cook and taxi service....mixed with a little Julie McCoy the cruise director. (does that age me..lol)

Father's Day Thoughts..

This Father's Day is a little different. I have My Dad, My Biological who has come back into my life, and the hubby who is gone (4th year in a row.) All I can say is wow. Some people don't know their father and now I have not one, but two.

My Mom loves me more than anything, but yes she's a little nuts. Ok, more than a little. I'm so thankful for my Dad that raised me, went to everything I ever did. All my cheer competitions, awards ceremonies, school awards, a wonderful education, hunting me down in Huntington Beach when I decided to stay out all night with the other cheer leaders, and cooking every meal was my dad.

My biological is here in my life now. I feel badly for him. He wanted me in his world and it just didn't happen. I can't judge my Mom about everything, because she did the best she could. It is what it is.

So on this Father's Day...I'm blessed. My children are blessed. It's just a little bittersweet. It's a good day, though. At least the hubby will be home next weekend for the kids.

Oh and for the funny moment of the day. I wore white cute pants today. As soon as I got home from church they were dirty. They were dirty with little finger prints all over my thighs. I began to think...who wears white with kids? Then there was Mama Duck who brought me back to reality. We only wear then when we're not with the kids! Ahhhhh! Now I remember! They were cute, though, while they lasted. :)

My Sweet Ava...

A little conversation with my 6 year old sweet Ava.

"Ava baby would you like Chinese for dinner tonight," I missed her so much that it was her turn to choose dinner out.

"Yes Mommy..I love Chinese. Can we cuddle, because we haven't cuddled today," She asked as she crawled into my lap.

"Well, I guess your right. We haven't really cuddled except for all morning when I had my coffee. What yummy food do you want from Tang's then?"

"Mmmmm, Mommy I'll have my usual. "

"Mmmmm, Remind me what that is?"

"Duh...Mommy....The cheese enchilada."

That from my sweet Ava cuddled in my lap. Gotta love it.

Spidey and Mommy...

Happy Friday Friends!

I am spending the day alone with Spidey. You know...boys are so much easier than girls. Trust me on this. He loves to hang out with me, but he loves to do his own thing. We're getting ready to go outside and run in the sprinkler thingy I got for him. That's all he wants. He's not hormonal like the girlies and he's just happy to hang out.

The girlies are off with their friends today. I have wonderful friends. Brave friends. They think nothing of adding another high maintenance princess to their bunch. :)

I hope it's a good one for all of you. You all have brightened my week and I'm glad when we're feeling like we're having a moment...we can just look on here and lift on another up. Whether it's through hubbies gone, baby worries, baby poonamies, or being thong worthy. It's nice.

Oh no it's gone!

Well, I've discovered that Spiderman is too smart.

"Holy Crap!!!! Where's my engagement ring."

" Oh mommy let's look," said the sweet girls.

We're on our knees searching. The boy starts laughing. Hmmm.

"Sammy, where's my jewelry."
"The tooth fairy is going to get it."
"Don't worry mommy. She'll give it back to you like she does all the teeth."

Holy Crap!!!!! He hasn't lost any teeth, so he figured it was a good way to get a little money for church. What a boy! Just look at his great hiding place. :) He does get points for creativity!!!!

Margaritas and thongs...

Now, I know we all talk about wine...cocktails...and thongs...right? MD? Peanutt? Yes right. Ok, so what happens when you have a nice margarita with friends, come home and put the kids to bed, pour a little glass of wine and then your thoughts are focused on that yummy margarita and your thong worthiness?

I organized them, talked about them, and then figured out how to look better in them. See what wine and margaritas will do to a girl.

Today my focus was on cardio mixed up with a little hill action walking the dog. Kids, a dog, a leash, and some hills is quite the workout. Just a tip. You want to increase the intensity..(sounding smart huh), well then get a jogger, an ipod, and a dog and I dare you to work them all at the same time! It takes quite the talented woman!

Well, I'm off to the day camp at night...wooohooo for the mommy. I have one totally naked, one napping, and one counting money with a calculator. Welcome to my world. LOL. I'm off to get them dressed and fed.

I hope you're all doing well tonight!
Love,
Christie

A few thoughts for today...What I'm craving

Sand between my toes.
The ocean breeze through my windows.
My sweet friend.
Rubio's Tacos. (Thank you Marie for having some for me.)
Peace, my deck, a cup of coffee and the view.
My Bunko Drunko Group.
Drives up the coast.
Knowing everything like the back of my hand.
Mmmm...That's a good start.

Today is a great day. I'm glad I can crave such wonderful things.

Happy Tuesday!

Last night was a great night. I found a little something for the kids to go for three hours for the rest of the week. A little day camp..at night. :)

I went for a salad with a girlfriend, ordered a glass of shiraz, and then realized I was still hot all over from working out! Woohoo...I'm burning calories again. I did 4 miles on the treadmill and then came home to walk the dog. I fed the kids, took a shower...then realized it was time to drop them off.

My point is, yesterday turned around! Not only did I get out into the sun and my brain got those endorphines pumping. I sooned realized that I was soooo going to be able to do another year of him in Iraq. I'm a strong cookie.

Well, today is going to be a good day. All the suits are washed and I think we're headed to the pool again. If any of you have a Y, Just Join! It's wonderful. Free child care while you work out or even enjoy the sun without them...and tons of activities. Most of them have parents' night out twice a month for 4 hours. Sooooo, my friends....it's totally worth it.

Today there will be no pity parties, but I have hats and cocktails for anyone that needs them.

Summer summer...

Well it's sunny today. The kids are fighting. The dog needs to be walked and I'm secluded up in the bonus room listening to them below. Ahhh what does the day hold for us? It's Hot hot hot outside, so I'm guessing we're off to the Y. I need to workout and then let the kids swim outside. It's like Country Club Y here. Also......I'm going to pick up all the info I need for Summer Day Camps! It's going to be an organized outing.

LOL..yeah me organized on an outing. Deeeeep Breath. I'm going to smile until I feel it and get the kids going already.
TTFN...I hope to be perky later..:)

Long day long day...

It's Sunday and it feels like it's been Sunday forever. It's stormy and it's raining. Please tell me how we managed to get through Summer without being total maniacs. Oh, I'm sorry....that's right....kids used to be able to play outside, ride their bikes, run free, and there were neighbors with kids!

Do you know what this weekend has made me think about....?

I'm not ready for another deployment with T going to Iraq in January again. Ugh. Sooooooo Not ready. Sorry I'm in a crappy mood. It's just a long week.

Yummmm

It's raining it's pouring...my wine glass is flowing....

That's right, I made it to the "liquor store" to buy my wine. It's funny because I have the kids and Ifeel like a bad mom taking the kids into the wine store....but what's a mom going to do in a state where you can't buy wine in a grocery store or on Sunday. Let me just add...quite an adventure with my children.

Now, I'm getting ready for my Tivo'd CSI..which I haven't seen. Miracle. I'm sipping some yummy wine that is much needed after today and I have smut in hand.

Exciting night here in the world of Christie. :)

Things to do...

Happy Saturday! Here's a list of things to do. I don't have too much, but let's see where this takes me.
  • Wake up early, because the kids don't sleep in. Done!
  • Put the dog out so he can go.....but crap I hope it's not raining. Done..but pouring!
  • Make my yummy coffee and wake my sweet ass up. Done! Yummy Coffee!
  • Make 3 different breakfasts for the kids, because they don't like the same thing! Done!
  • Make my egg whites...and tomatoes. Yumm. The things we do for the bod. Done!
  • Avoid the leftover chinese the kids ate last night! Done, but it's still calling my name!
  • Figure out what to do today to keep the kids from making me nuts! Done! Library!
  • Walk the dog so we don't have an accident, because the invisible fence doesn't hold him.Done
  • Continue to look for the umbrella, because the dog was walked in the rain!
  • Go to the market and buy my smutty magazines!
  • Vow to never watch "The Knot" on Oxygen again. Spoiled Bitchy Brides. Ugh! Done!
  • Remember hubby said take out and frozen foods are not cooking for the children. Bite me!
  • Just relax, soak in the tub, light some candles, and buy some wine because in TN you can't buy it on SUNDAY!

Too many of....
I have soooo many oranges! My husband is into buying tons of fruit. This is just one bowl of one type of fruit. I've been making fruit salad....yummy yummy. :) Posted by Hello

Could use more of....
This is what I want more of! I could do with flowers every single week. Maybe that will be a gift I give myself. I used to do that in Cali. I'd get bouquets at Costco and arrange them in big vases throughout the house. Mmmm. Nice idea. Posted by Hello

Content with the amount of....
Come on Mommy take the picture already! I have totally content with my darlings, even if they think playing is more important than getting their picture taken. :) Posted by Hello

More than content with....
This is my prized pocession! It's my DeLonghi Coffe Maker! It makes the best damn cup of coffee known to humankind! Trust me I've been through enough coffee makers to know this. This is a non human contentment. We all know how I love my coffee. Posted by Hello

Friday Shmiday....

Happy Friday my friends.

When the kids are in school, one looks forward to the weekends of relaxing and catching up. Now that it's the Summer it feels like we must wait until the kids are back in school for that to happen. Not complaining, but it's raining and the munchkins are in for some rainy day Mondays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays...:)

The hubby is getting ready to leave for training for a few weeks. Oooooooh I get the kids alone! LOL. I think I'm just going to go with the flow and not make any serious plans. I sooo need a nap! Ok, I need to perk my sweet as up.

Hmmm...I think I'm going to get my site perked up and redesigned. I'd love to learn to do it myself. Oh BTW...I have a marketing business...how about the name of "Savvy C Marketing and Design." I like it. I've just been doing business under my name, but I'm getting ready to go legit, because my client base is building up. I love Savvy C. Advice will be gladly taken. Be nice!

Off to take the hubby. Talk to you guys soon.

The smartass is back...

"Daddy, Hi It's Ava. Can you put a little extra money in Mommy's slush fund. We want to go to Target. Ok Daddy...here's Mommy," my precious said as she handed me the phone. I told him I told her that I was out of cash for today, so she would stop begging me to go get a treat. My Sugar Daddy proceed to direct me to the DVDs and Dr. NO (James Bond...which he knows I don't watch at all.) So, I open it and there he has 5 20s stashed. LOL! I told him...no way. He told me to use some of that but not all of it. He laughed...I hung up.

That got me thinking. How much more $ does he have stashed throughout the house. LOL. Hmmm. I'm going on a treasure hunt...after Target, of course. :)

Day In The Life Of A Marine Wife

This morning I woke up feeling much better. I feel like I'm grounded. My husband's comment of getting me a money manager, so I won't even have to worry about money during this deployment kind of just broke the grim reality of another deployment to Iraq. He is such a man..lol! He even has his Quicken/Excel spreadsheets on his Palm. Too funny.

Ok, so January is far enough away. The kids have totally just got into a comfy zone, though. Middle Princess, who has had the worst time with the leaving and returnings, is finally doing great and doesn't scream so much when I leave her with Daddy for a quick run to the market.

I have to watch my words around the kids, because if I mention Iraq or War...we're going to need immediate therapy. Not that I have given up my therapist or the Zoloft. Thank God for Zoloft. Literally!

I think I'm ready to write my book. Yes, I can actually write. I may not edit my blogs or think to hard about what I write, because I just let my fingers fly on here. I think people need to know what this is doing to families and how little support there is. Actually, what kind of support would could we expect? I'm not one for handouts. I won't exploit the fact that I have a deployed hubby in Iraq. I just don't like that. It's just that it's getting to the point of no return with the Daddieis and the Mommies out there.

To those of you who say...he should just get out...well not everyone can get out. My Major Dad decided to get his MBA and the Marine Corps gave him a "little" tuition assistance. For that you can tack on some years. He still has 1 1/2 years left in the place we are now. You can't just quit. If he were in the Army he'd be screwed. The Army has a stop loss in effect. Which means, you can't get out even if you want to or if your retirement time has come. So it's a mess.

I'm not truly venting, because it's going to be a good day. Tomorrow he leaves for 3 weeks of annual training. He's a full time Marine and has been for 11 years. He has to go and train the reserve guys, because they're used all the time now. The word draft is actually making it's way into the vocabulary of military recruiters. Can you imagine?

Ok...so now....this isn't a pro or anti war blog. I'm a wife and mom. I married my husband right out of college and knew nothing of military. I didn't even know there were enlisted and officers. I was clueless. So, please no, "You knew what you were getting into when you got married." I didn't!

I'm off to live my life behind the smile on my face. I am in a much better place than last year at this time. I don't expect any breakdowns any time soon. So, life is ok, better than most. As I always say....And life goes on...

XOXO,
Christie

Pictures of Poop!

I've decided to spare you all the picture of poop in the potty! Yes...that's right poop in the potty. My boy...Spidey....had a big poop. Then he asked me if he got all the poop off his butt. Yes, as usual he did. Then he grabbed the digital camera and told me he was going to shoot the poop! It didn't hit me he mean't with the camera. I thought he was just going to pee on it. UGH! So, I downloaded some pics...and there it was....poop in the potty! Lovely!

And how was your night?!

Whew...

I am feeling better. Sometimes getting out of the house is all I need to recharge. I do have the post girly hormone drop...sooooo I'm sure that's it. Plus, I had a piece of my BDay cake. Yumm. Not two pieces..just one. If I could fedex all of you a piece I so would. Then, I'm sure you'd have a little smile too. :) That's right..emotional eating, but who cares. LOL.

Bloggers Anonymous Vent Day

Well, thank you MD for starting the pity party, but I'll continue it over here.

Hubby came home last night and told me he's heading out for the war in January. Yes he's an active duty Major in the Marines(for those of you not knowing this.) He was gone for a year(sold cali dream house because unexpectedly had to move to nashville), home for 5 months, gone for a year, and now he's been home for 7 months. He wasn't even supposed to deploy here in Nashville. We were supposed to be home together, after all the time away. Now, we're going on deployment #3 to the war...with the 2nd in Nashville. UGH.

I just feel crappy. It just sucks.

Let's not even get into the war being right or wrong. I just know my kids are going to freak out. Just when they get settled with Daddy home, a suprise deployment comes along. Hence, the need for Zoloft. I need more than a drink. I need a bed and to be able to cover my head and no get up all day long. That's soooo no possible, as you friends might know. Hmmm I could go eat cake until I can't stand the taste anymore..that might make me feel better. LOL. Ugh no.

So, on that note...I'll say party on all you venters. I don't even have anything funny to add, except if I have to watch one more disney show I'm going to scream. There's nothing worse than humming a Wiggles tune alone in the shower.

Bye friends. I'll write more later when I can find my smartass self.

I've got nothing today..

Well, I'm sitting her listening to the kids beg me for cake (surprise, i know) and it hit me I only got dressed from the waist up. I still have my jammie bottoms on. Ugh. Ok..so I'll fix that, but I'm still stuck with giving the kids a piece of cake. I can't hold out any longer. The begging is getting to me.

As you can imagine, if I forgot to get dressed from the bottom down...then I obviously am braindead today. I have nothing good to note today.

I do, however have a little observation to point out. Scroll one picture down and look at those candles. That cake was ablaze and all those candles really heated me up when I went to blow them out! Hmmmm the joys of 20/15! If you look really closely you can see have they melted right into the cake it was so hot! LOL.

Coffee and Kids..

Yes today is the day. I'm too tired to even thing about anything expect my dreams last night. It's so strange. I feel like my life played out in my dreams last night and into this morning. The faces of my past and present were everywhere to be seen. WOW!

What was that all about?! I feel like I need a nap to recover from my 8 hours last night. Then my lovely children woke me up at 6. That was followed by coffee and a tantrum from Spidey. My eyes won't stay all the way open. LOL. Maybe an iv of coffee would work. Help!

Seriously...It's a lovely morning. I was just able to kick the kids out of my sanctuary of my nook and send them upstairs to watch tv and use the computer. Oh, they've woken up in rare form.

Well...I'm off to sip coffee and try to avoid the screaming children. Happy Monday! I have nothing amusing yet...maybe as the morning progresses and my brain starts firing.

Love,
Christie

Heating Up!

This is just a warning. In case I never blog again....it's because I've melted!

Yes...Melting is possible. I went to college in AZ and I know heat. This, is hotter than hell heat with humidity! It's just icky!

Ugh...and I'm supposed to go to a baseball game and melt, I'm guessing...lol. Lovely!

I love Sundays

My favorite thing about Sunday is the coffee and the paper. Mmmmmm. I am sipping the best damn cup of coffee. My hubby brought home some Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Granted it's from Costco...but it is soooooo good! I ruin it, i'm sure, with my creamer and sweet n low. However, it's just the way I like it. Yummy.

My kids woke up so early this morning my eyes aren't even open all the way. My paper is still on the driveway, which is so not like me. Ok, so I'm on the last day of Twenty-fourteen. It's going to be a blowout. We're going to a baseball game and ending with fireworks. It's going to be so fun.

I need to go get the the paper and look at the Target sale ad. I love that place.

I'm sorry everyone. I gave you all the wrong information regarding my age as of June 6, 2005. I will be turning Twenty-Fifteen! I'm sorry if that caused any confusion! It makes me feel a hell of a lot better, though! Thanks MD for the reminder!

My Birthday Weekend...

Well, I should be nervous about the number. Yes, I really should. I'm not going to be, though. Life is what it is....and I'm owning it.

The 34th year of Christie has been quite adventurous. It's been filled with deep love, excitement, lonliness, self-discovery, renewel, and serious loss. Mmmmm. Life is an adventure.

I've made wonderful friends and lost a cherished one. I even found an old Dad who wants to be in my life again. I didn't think I'd be able to feel ok again...and I'm starting to. I've finally figured out that I'm worthy of so much. It took 35 years to discover that. The self doubt is leaving, and my confidence is back. My health is sooooo much better, too. I'm mentally and physically better than ever. So, how can I dread 35. I think it will be the best year ever.

As it's been said...I've loved Truly, Madly, and Deeply. So many people don't ever know what it feels like. I, happily, do. I don't have to give that up...and I can hold on to it. I'm taking my deep breaths and doing life. I'm a lucky girl. I know how to be thankful and grateful. Very good things to know about. Trust me.

On this weekend I wish for peace and happy memories. I promise to give myself love and attention from this year on and I promise to accept love in all forms. I will cherish it all past, present, and look forward to the future. I'm lucky I know happiness is possible. Peace is at hand. Love is all around me and in me, spoken and unspoken.

Ok...yes mooshy. It's just what I needed to write for me.

Oh the emotions are flowing today. H.

Frick and Frack...aka Spidey and Princess 2 Posted by Hello

Allowance...

Now, let me just start by saying this is a semi-rant! LOL.

I stay at home with the kids. Yes on our 1040 my occupations is "House Wife!" UGH! I am so not a screaming liberal, but I think I do have quite liberal tendencies considering my hubby is a Marine Officer. All that being said....I am wondering something.

How many of you get an "allowance?" Hmmmm! It sounds sooooo dominating of him, but we all know who runs this house. LOL. Yes, me. So, this morning I had to email him for some money. Yes, after I made $625 from my MK on Wednesday. His email back to me was ....Where did the $60 go from Wednesday? Got to love it. I don't know.

First of all $60 just goes so fast on Wednesdays. All my magazines come out on Wednesdays. Yes, I read all the smut. I don't drink or do drugs (except a little Z), so reading is my fix. Yes...magazines and books. Ok. Then, there are the kids. Goodies. Treats. You get my drift. (Oh, yes..I was informed last night how much of a push over I am). LOL..well thanks.

Back to today's request. Yes I asked for more money. He called, finally...and told me he popped $100 in and would prefer me to use cash instead of my cards. He says i'm not too good with the cards. Yeah yeah yeah. Something about me not keeping track. He is a total anal money hubby. Oh yes we look for $45,000 cars, but I am questioned about my magazine purchasing habits.!!!!! Men. My man! He told me, though, when we buy our next house (probably moving who knows where next year) it will be my dream house and I'll thank him. Well ok, then. :)

I wonder what he has in store for my birthday! Hmmmm.

Ok...my rant is done. I know most of you probably do the money. Mmmmm not me. I used to, but it's much easier this way. He's got spreadsheets, Quicken, and who knows how many accts. I guess I'll stick to having a little slush fund (yes that's right) and promising to buy a cute bra or thong if he throws in a little extra! :) It always works for me.

That's all for now. Just don't forget I was the one who did all the house buying...so I'm not as weak as one might think. LOL!

Pink Eye and Ticks! A little TMI!

Oh, my friends, the joys of my world! After my wonderful night, one knew the other shoe was about to drop.

I woke up to a crusty icky eye. I knew immediately it was Pink Eye, because Spiderman had his last week. Lucky Lucky Me!!!! As I was in bed, I felt that the eye was a little heavy and puffy. Nothing prepared me for what I was about to see. I scared myself. My left eye was so swollen shut it made my husband jump. LOL. Delightful, huh?

Then as I'm washing my face and digging for the leftover pink eye cream Spidey walks in with his pants around his ankles. My daily readers are probably thinking what I was. I thought he was going to show me his "pee pee that grew"....no not even close! (Thank goodness for small miracles.) It was however totally disgusting! Let's all remember I am from So Cal and am new to all this outdoorsy tree filled land.

Ready...

He had a tick on his penis! OMG!!!!!!!! I almost hurled. I freaked out. I'm still wondering if I need to take him to the doctor, but haven't a clue. So, I guess I'll call. Well, I picked that boy up so fast, put him on the counter, and grabbed that black bug just like the hubby told me to. UGH UGH UGH UGH UGH UGH! That damn tick was still moving his legs when I got him out. You have no idea how disgusting it was!

Hubby immediately said he thought we would have to do tick checks whenever we came inside from now on. I told him to have fun! All of this before 7:00! So, now I'm drinking my coffee and waking up. I have banned all tick talk from the kids and hopefully the day will bring better things than the early morning did. :)

Finally!

It might have taken 4 days, but the headache is finally gone! I think I just made myself a nervous wreck because I had a huge Mary Kay class tonight. Not only is it over, but it went well. Why do I worry so much? I need to have more faith!

I can't believe how well things went tonight and I showed the hubby all the checks and his mouth dropped. So wooohoo for me. I can't believe I was able to do $625 in two hours with only 5 guests! WOW! I'm happy. I'm off to bed.

Long long summer!

Let me just say...It's going to be one long summer! I have thoroughly planned out things for the kids today. I, officially, feel like Julie McCoy...the cruise director.

Oh, and my daughter just had a 20 minute conversation about how she couldn't be a vegetarian. Uhhhh, I told her it wasn't mandatory. "Mommy...those sweet animals are sooo cute and I feel so badly eating them," she told me with tears in her eyes. She just can't seem to give up hamburger or ribs. LOL. Hmmm. She still will be a veterinarian, but she says she'll hopefully get sick of meat by then. OMG! Yes, I know. To answer your next question, no I'm not a Veggie.

Well, I just got a gift card in the mail from my parents to Outback. So, I guess we'll be going there tonight, because I soooo don't want to cook. See how nicely things work out. Life has decided to cooperate for a change.

Let me just answer the final question you may have...yes I'm PMSY! UGH! After three kids it just comes on like the plague. Ugh. Ok, maybe i'll have a cocktail, too. Mmmm now that sounds good.

Happy Anniversary to Us...

May 28th, 2005 is our 11th wedding anniversay. Wow, 11 years. We went out tonight with the kids to a great baseball game. Didn't you know that Nashville has a AAA baseball team that feeds into the World Famous Brewers..LOL. I thought it would be crappy, but it ended up fabulously! We had food, fun and when the game was done we saw the most AMAZING fire works. It was better than some 4th of July parties.

Tomorrow the 28th we'll celebrate our first anniversary together in 4 years. He was deployed for the last 2 during the War....and with Sept 11th...and other military crap...we've been apart! So, this is going to be a great day. I am surprising him with a replica of the top of our wedding cake and we'll have it after dinner with some fabulous champagne. That along with some pictures of us...and it's going to be a sweet day.

Happy Weekend!

My body is a launching pad!

My husband took today off, so it was nice to not be totally alone with the kids on day 2 of summer. Well, I feel like I have a summer cold. I'm a little out of it. You know that foggy feeling behind your face...and feeling like the last thing you can do all day is take care of three kids alone.

I made them a wonderful lunch, because I am Superwoman! LOL. Mexican for all of them. Then it was naptime. So, I put a show on for the little ones so they could have some quiet time and I quickly fell asleep. One was snuggled behind my knees (always touching..lol), another on the other couch, and one on the floor. All of a sudden, I woke up. I felt something strange. There he was. Spiderman was balanced on my hip bone ( I was on my side) and then he took a flying leap off my body to the floor. I was in shock. Before I could say anything....He was up on me again. Woosh...He flew off again. That's right friends, I've become just another launching pad.

He had a great excuse. I had told him not to jump off the couch...and Mommy isn't a couch. So, what's wrong he wanted to know? Such logic! This all came after he (four years old) ran out to me naked from the bathroom to show me his penis that had "growed"!!!! That's right friends...a boy erection at 4 1/2! The pediatrician told me not to worry the last time it kept "growing", but ugh...we had a talk about how the sisters are not to see the "growing penis"!!!!! Such conversations these kids are making me have with them!

Were we such a handful?

My 10 year old princess got her bangs cut! We have been in the growing the bang out phase forever and it's been driving me crazy. I know, I know, pick your battles! This is one just got under my skin. I know I never was such a pain at 10. I mean, come on, I was a naive 10 year old. My daughter was explaining what a lesbian is to my 6 year old. Yes, that had me spitting my drink out of my mouth when hubby and I heard that one. Soooooo....she is a straight A student. She is gifted and a miracle (my 17 surgery girl who was a 31 week preemie.) She's precious and really good. However, she tells ME I don't know about style!!!!!!! What?! Me!!!!!? No way! Has it come to that? I don't need to be a "cool" mom, but come on....not know about style. UGH.

Ok...so she was backtalking. You know, when girls just don't know when to stop. So, I warned her. I warned her again....and finally told her that if she kept it up I'd cut her bangs. (Yes hoping she'd keep it up..bad I know.) Well, she granted my wish and kept it up! Wooohooo!!!!! Her hair was going to be trimmed...and look sweet again. And so it happened...she cried, but it was ok. I sucked it up with a smile. Oooooh and she looks so nice. I told her how cleaned up it looked...and she told me she LOVED it! She didn't know why we didn't do her hair like that sooner! DUH!!!
Girls...!

Good luck all you girl mommies.

It's fixed...

So, I fixed my three in a row. However, the damn post is gone all together. I just wanted one to stay. Well, the kids are home and Summer is here. They're crazy wild summer kids. LOL. I know for a fact I wasn't this crazy to my mom. :) Let's just not ask my mom.

Well, now it's time to get the bathing suit and a wax. Ugh....where does time go. I swear I was just wearing my pink Uggs in the snow. Time is flying and it's almost my birthday.

XOXO

Three in a row...

Three in a row posts and hell if I can figure out how to get rid of them. LOL. That's right, I deleted them and they're still there. Oh well, just so you know...I know.

No on the Hybrid...

Well, he doesn't like the Hybrid. I didn't see that coming..lol. Yeah right. He liked it, but it wasn't what he wanted. Soooooo I think he's back looking at the Acura. Men and their cars.

I'm just having a nice cup of tea and relaxing.

Happy Monday...

Today has already given me one child faking sick on the second to last day of school, a husband ready to buy a new car, and another Star Wars DVD with the boy. After I took the non sick one to school, I am finally enjoying a cup of coffee.

So, I guess we're going to buy a car today...(i'm working on getting him to look at a hybrid..and if you knew my hubby you'd be cracking up.) Yes, I am the more liberal, green one of us..lol. When I really was fed up with the war and him being on tour #2 to Iraq...I just threatened to put a Kerry for President sign in the yard. LOL. Yep I just laughed. I know how to get to him. LOL. I'm a total smartass. He wants an SUV (trading in the Volvo) and I'm talking Hybrid. Yes. Don't even get me started on Nashville not giving residents Recyclers! Even the military bases given their residents, on base, recyclers! Ok, I digress.

Now, don't go feeling sorry for the hubby. He knows I'm a handful.
Happy Monday my friends...

Wow..35!

I can't believe in 15 days, June 6, I'm going to be 35. When did that happen? Ok, so if 40 is the new 30, does that mean 35 can be the equivilant of 25? LOL...Well, I hope not. I love my 30's more than my mid 20's. I must admit, I'm getting better with age.

I am wistful of the years gone by, but one can't live in the past. I'm glad for all my success, my mistakes...my life. It's been quite a ride, so far. I wonder what the adventure holds. If you would have told me I'd be 35 and living in Nashville a few years ago, I'd say you were high! However, this time of my life is giving me some of the sweetest memories yet.

I wish for a wonderful new year. I hope to weed out the hurt of and lows of 34 and move on to the sweetest time yet. :) I'm the eternal optimist, it's got to be good for something.

Ok Ok..enough of me being deep about superficial age. LOL..My coffee hasn't kicked in yet, either has the zoloft. LOL!!!!!!! So, let me curl up with my coffee and paper, while the kids are outside looking at the veggies Mommy is trying to grow. Spiderman is really taken with Starwars, and the Princesses are already wearing the cute little outfits we got yesterday. They are such little fashion cuties, just like the Mommy.

Ok friends, I'm off to the coffee...and let me just share they carried in a dead worm just now! ICK! I'm off to my day...Happy Sunday.

Ooooooh...check out my Crayon!

You are

I can't believe I did it...

I actually bought my son, Spiderman, the Star Wars trilogy today. The girls were at school and everytime he saw a SW commercial on tv he'd ask me if I tivo'd SW. It went on for days. So, I said...fine...let's go get the DVD. Well, they don't just sell one DVD. It's the trilogy. So, yes, I spent $45 for them (last one in stock.) On our way out we walked past the SW section in the toys. You can already see it coming....huh? "Mommy I need the light saber," he begged. Fine Fine Fine. I guess he deserves one boy toy for every 5 Barbies in the house. LOL. I'm a sucker.

Now, he's upstairs standing on my bed watching his dvds and doing the SW light saber dance..lol. Yes, the one I made fun of yesterday! See....karma just came and bit me in the ass.

XOXO

One more before I go to bed...

Follow your bliss....

I think that says it all. It's been working for me lately. :)

A few thoughts for today...

I was watching the news last night and theyhad guys dressed up as Star Wars characters and doing choreographed Light Saber dances, for loss of a better word. Riddle me this...what kind of person camps out for days, dresses like their favorite Jedi character, and then performs the "routine" with a light saber before Star Wars opens? They're a bunch of geeks. These guys are officially tied with the people who dress up and go to Star Trek conventions! LOL. It's just the funniest thing. Where do they get so much time? Do they work? Go to school? LOL...I'm sure they brought their wireless computers,Macs of course, to play SW games while they waited.

I do have a good memory. It was 76 or 77 and it was the original Star Wars. My mom and her girlfriend (single hotties) were going out, so I was getting babysat by the girfriend's son and his friend. We watched Star Wars at Manns Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The guys were aspiring film makers. They taped the movie with a tape recorder. It was too funny. I remember it to this day. It was quite the life I had growing up. I am a lucky girl. It didn't hit me until this morning that I, too, had special Star Wars memories...but you won't see me dressing up like Princess Leah and camping out. Although, the thought of the sexy Princess Leah costume would be fun...lol.

TTFN...XOXO and to my Geeky Star Wars friends....Let the force be with you!

Oh and PS...My hubby gave all the guys at work the day off so they could go watch the movie...Yeah I know....UGH! LOL

Summer is here...

Well today was Spring/Summer cleaning. LOL. Wow...I got in the nooks and crannies. I just finished and it's 8:30. I am here to tell you that under my couches are clean, under the cushions are clean, there isn't a thing under my bed, the kids rooms are immaculate......and they're all bathed and in bed. I feel good. Don't you love it when everything is just right. I have always have a clean house, but this is clean clean we're talking. Ok, I have to admit I have the carpet cleaners coming tomorrow, so they will be under things and everywhere...lol. So, there was a method to my madness.

Now the hubby is tinkering with the surround sound. UGH...lol. Just what we need. Men and their gadgets. I'm ready to finally relax and he's tinkering.

I have to get things together, because my kids are on Summer Vacation as of Tuesday. Can you believe it? Another school year has come and gone. Time is flying. It feels like only yesterday I was studying for finals at U of A and planning a summer of sun and the beach. Mmmmm I can't believe that my oldest is going into 5th grade and my baby is going to be in PreK.

Life is too short to dwell on the past. Living for today and tomorrow is where it's at. :)

Important Household Items!

Here's a thought for you? What are the 3 most important items in your house (excluding humans, pets, and books?)

This came to me yesterday morning as I was waking up at 6:15 on Sunday morning. My lovely children decided it was time to get up and get in all their tv time before church. I went about my morning. My routine was normal. I walked downstairs, waking up I put the dog outside, walk into the kitchen and put on my coffee, and then make the kids breakfast. On my way out to driveway to get my Sunday paper, I noticed the counter full of water. That's right....the Coffee Maker died!

Starbucks wouldn't work, because I'd have to get out of the car. I was in no mood for that. Well, Sleeping Beauty (hubby) woke up to my screeching and I sweet talked him into getting us coffee. After all of this, though..there was no time for church. I needed to sit, enjoy my bought coffee, and read the paper. Sooo...this got me to thinking about the most important things in my house.

Here they are:
My laptop! I don't need to go any further. We all get that!

My Tivo! If you have Tivo...you soooo know what I mean. There's nothing like it. If you don't have it....You need to seriously think about it. It's awesome. One of my favorite things is watching Desperate Housewives and Alias the morning after.

Finally, and most importantly....MY COFFEE MAKER! Life just isn't the same without one. Yes, I'm addicted. I admit it. I just enjoy wrapping my hands around the warm cup and sipping away.
Those are my 3 favorties...What are yours?

Kids Kids Kids

Rainy days and kids inside are quite a mix. At the moment, Spiderman is gargling Diet Coke and Princess #2 is making him laugh so it's coming out of his nose. Delightfu, huh? The coffee has done nothing to help me today. Oh now they're chasing each other around the couch. LOL...let it stop!

Calgon take me away!

If I hadn't had PMS days ago..I'd think I had PMS right now. The kids, as much as they're being little wild rugrats right now, they crack me up!

The rain needs to stop, because I have things to do today. The last thing I need is to drag the kids out in the rain and listen to the arguing about who gets to hold which umbrella! LOL...Life with kiddies, fun. Moms must have strategic planning on the outings. Without a plan...we'd all be screwed. You know what I mean mommies...dont' you?

Want a workout?

Well all of you striving for thong worthiness....I've got it figured out.

With all the Y workouts, cutting out anything white, and all the gadets you can come up with have nothing on gardening!

I've just been out in the melting heat working my ass out pulling weeds and planting flowers. Yes, I melted, but hopefully it was just fat. This was all after my Y workout. LOL. My abs were even put to work in the garden. Whoooooo!

That is my little tip for you guys this weekend. Plus, you get to make your house pretty and get the nice smile every time you drive up. You guys know I'm a house hunting whore, but Martha Stewart has nothing on me. I love the decorating and gardening, but with the edge of sassiness! I'm not perfect, but like things cozy and pretty!
Ok, there you go. I hope you're all having a nice weekend.

Hot Hot Hot

I'm here to tell you that it is possible to MELT! It's in the 90's today and I swear I'm melting. My husband always tells me not to worry that I'm not going to melt....he's wrong. Ok Ok, I'm a little HM. It's a given and I fully admit it. However, I did go to the University of Arizona in Tucson and don't think I ever complained about the hot hot heat like this. Having to lug the kids in and out of the car probably has something to do with it.

I can't believe I'm the same person who used to lay out on top of the 10 story dorms in 100 degrees with baby oil! LOL. Now I make sure sunscreen is at hand and it's always on my face. (I'm working to keep the wrinkles away.) Soooooo, other than that complaint it's been a nice little day.

Here are a few things only heard in the south....
Fixin' (thanks Mama D) I can't even imagine saying fixin.
Right Quick....that doesn't even make sesne.
Rick and Bubba...Radio guys. UGH..Bubba
Y'all in California are on the left coast.

Just a few little southerisms. LOL....TTFN

Time....

I've spent my life chasing something.

I'm done chasing the elusive something.

I'll smile more knowing it's ok.

Mmmm I wonder what is next and I can't wait for the adventure.

So many things floating around in my brain right now....so I'll just end this little note and say TTFN.

My sweet friend...breathe.

XOXO
Christie

One more thing...

I'm seriously craving chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, May 10, 2005

Oh no...!

It's happened.

Stop everything.

I've been so worried about my kids, but I should have worried about me! Holy Crap!

I caught myself. I'm embarassed. Mortified. Feeling like a Southerner!

Here it is. Once again...Holy Crap!

Whenever I say my Son's name....Sam......It sounds like Saaahhhhm.

There's a slight TWANG! FUCK FUCK FUCK! I can't get it to go away. FUCKITY FUCK FUCK FUCK!
That's about all I have today. LOL! Yes tons of F words. If you look through my blogs...I dare you to find me ever saying FUCK, but finding the twang when I say my son's name is totally cuss worthy. LOL Get me back to So Cal before I turn into a redneck!

Crazy Love

This is wear my brain is today. I'm smiling and remembering.

Crazy Love...Van Morrison
I can hear her heart beat for a thousand miles
And the heavens open every time she smiles
And when I come to her that’s where I belong
Yet I’m running to her like a river’s song

Chorus:
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love

She’s got a fine sense of humor when I’m feeling low down
And when I come to her when the sun goes down
Take away my trouble, take away my grief
Take away my heartache, in the night like a thief

Chorus:
Yes I need her in the daytime
Yes I need her in the night
Yes I want to throw my arms around her
Kiss her hug her kiss her hug her tight

And when I’m returning from so far away
She gives me some sweet lovin’ brighten up my day
Yes it makes me righteous, yes it makes me feel whole
Yes it makes me mellow down in to my soul

I am loved..

Sometimes we need to stop the searching for love and fulfillment and just cherish what is right in front of us. I am loved. I was pampered, cuddled, and taken care of today. I love my family and when I'm having a hard time I'll smile knowing how loved and appreciated I am. :) When we're happy and loving one another...anything is possible.

XOXO

Happy Mother's Day..

Aaahhh tomorrow is Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day my friends. I look forward to spending the day tomorrow with my little ones and hubby. It should be a wonderful day. I haven't spent the a MD with my husband in 4 years. Can you believe it? The deployments and war have kept him away for soooo many holidays.

I know I talk about sparkly things, handbags, and luxurious gifts...but I really only care about my family. Just spending time together will be the most wonder gift of all. Some of the best fun was today watching the little ones look for gifts and flowers with me there. They were hiding them and finding cards. They were so excited...it was precious. They just love me.

Oh yeah and the PMS is gone away...so wooohooo for me. I'm feeling a little better.

PS...Don't forget to treat the Moms with love and tenderness tomorrow. We all need it. Making them Queens for the day wouldn't hurt either :)

A few thoughts filling my brain.

My brain is full of so much this morning I don't even know where to begin.

Who knew that Mother's Day isn't "Sparkly Worthy!" According to my hubby anniversaries (May 28th) and brithdays (June 6) are Sparkly Worthy...lol. Hmmm So I sure hope it's cute purse worthy..LOL! I do hope for something sparkly during my month of special days.

This morning the coffee addict is in withdrawls a little. I don't have any creamer! I am stuck using skim milk! Let's just say, thankfully for everyone in my world that I had sweet n low. Otherwise, I'd be one grumpy Mama.

I'm working on the Purpose Driven Life for the third time. I love this book. It's color coded for the different studies. It's amazing how I can get something different out of it every time I go back to it. My thought for today......Day 16.....Life is about love. Mmmm if that isn't the truth.

When will this war in Iraq end. My husband is talking about going over again. Ugh. He is an active duty Marine, for those of you who don't know. He's a Major and he's been in 11 years. This will be the third trip over. That doesn't even include the other deployments. UGH. I support everyone and I'm not allowed to go negative with him, but enough already. You all know I don't get political, but I can see it now. After Iraq...then on to Iran. It will never end. I pray for peace.

I need yoga today. I need the meditation at the end.

Mmmmm...what else....I'm thinking of all my friends this morning and wishing you all a beautiful day!
I feel like I said something and expressed a little that's filling my brain this morning. I'm thankful for my friends. You know who you are...and I'm glad I have you in my world.
Love,
Christie

Sunny Wednesday

I had a great lunch with a wonderful girlfriend yesterday! She reminded me that my doctor is right. I will only have relationships "On My Own Terms." It was nice to know that my real girlfriends are truly wonderful. We had the last lunch before she went in today to be induced to have her baby! It was just a sweet lunch.

So, things are better and I"m treasuring my real friendships. I don't have to keep the unhealthy user people in my world. It's funny that at my age I'm just now getting it.

It's ok to change my mind! This I know for sure, if I can't change my mind...then who will change it for me. Sooo...it's going to be a wonderful Wednesday. This I know for sure...:)

Days like this...

Some days are easier than others. It's hard when you've had a friend for so long and you finally have to just let them, because the relationship is not healthy. I've typed it before and I'll type it again...I miss my friend.

I just love my friend so dearly, it just has to be this way. No pity party...just deep breaths.

Ok, I need my coffee...:)

Car Shopping...

Who has been car shopping with a man lately? OMG!!!!!!

My husband is a crack up. It's like a woman shopping for shoes that will match the perfect dress...and then finding the perfect bag to match. Let me say he has expensive taste. Right now he drives a Volvo S80 T6. Ok, soooo nice little man car. I drive a minivan with crushed goldfish under the carseats. Ok...back to the story. So, he decides his volvo is done. I do agree with this, because it's time to get something with a warranty again. Mine is paid off and a few years old...but if you have a luxury anything...you need a warranty.

Soooooo today we went to many a dealership. Did you know soooo many are closed on Sunday?! Welcome to the south. LOL. So, now he's looking at an Acura, Saab, or who knows. LOL. Welcome to the world of shopping with my hubby. Some of you might remember he went in for a laptop and came out with 2 (0ne for each of us.) He works so hard and deploys to wars...and if he wants a nice car...then I want that for him. He deserves nice things after living in the hell hole of a desert that is Iraq. He's Mr. budget and the sugar daddy for me. He hands me cash and always makes sure the car is not on E for me. :)

Welcome to carbuying with Tom. LOL. Oh did I tell you he loves a great deal. So, I pity the poor sales person when my "always wanting a deal" hubby walks in.!

Happy Monday tomorrow!

Caffeine is my drug of choice...

Am I an addict?

Hmmm, now that's the question. I love my coffee. I can't imagine my morning without my little jolt of cafe. LOL. I love it. It's a love affair. I look forward to my moments with my hands wrapped around my favorite Longaberger Mugs...or my Princess Mug sipping it slowly. Mmmm the scent of a nice roasted bean can get the endorphines pumping with no exercise needed. It's my morning ritual. If there isn't creamer or sweet n low in the house...my morning can really suffer. My morning can be set off on a negative tone. So, I'm sure I always keep the coffee cupboard stocked..even if it means a special trip to the market for my "stash."

So, yes...It's my drug of choice. I gave up my daily diet coke, but replaced it with iced tea. Hmmm. What's a girl to do? I thought I'd blog about my yummy friend sitting next to me this morning. I wish I could pour you a yummy cup and chat about the run away bride. Instead, I'll just have to watch CNN and the story of the crazy lady who ran away from life.
XOXO Happy Saturday friends...
