Long long summer!

Let me just say...It's going to be one long summer! I have thoroughly planned out things for the kids today. I, officially, feel like Julie McCoy...the cruise director.

Oh, and my daughter just had a 20 minute conversation about how she couldn't be a vegetarian. Uhhhh, I told her it wasn't mandatory. "Mommy...those sweet animals are sooo cute and I feel so badly eating them," she told me with tears in her eyes. She just can't seem to give up hamburger or ribs. LOL. Hmmm. She still will be a veterinarian, but she says she'll hopefully get sick of meat by then. OMG! Yes, I know. To answer your next question, no I'm not a Veggie.

Well, I just got a gift card in the mail from my parents to Outback. So, I guess we'll be going there tonight, because I soooo don't want to cook. See how nicely things work out. Life has decided to cooperate for a change.

Let me just answer the final question you may have...yes I'm PMSY! UGH! After three kids it just comes on like the plague. Ugh. Ok, maybe i'll have a cocktail, too. Mmmm now that sounds good.

Happy Anniversary to Us...

May 28th, 2005 is our 11th wedding anniversay. Wow, 11 years. We went out tonight with the kids to a great baseball game. Didn't you know that Nashville has a AAA baseball team that feeds into the World Famous Brewers..LOL. I thought it would be crappy, but it ended up fabulously! We had food, fun and when the game was done we saw the most AMAZING fire works. It was better than some 4th of July parties.

Tomorrow the 28th we'll celebrate our first anniversary together in 4 years. He was deployed for the last 2 during the War....and with Sept 11th...and other military crap...we've been apart! So, this is going to be a great day. I am surprising him with a replica of the top of our wedding cake and we'll have it after dinner with some fabulous champagne. That along with some pictures of us...and it's going to be a sweet day.

My body is a launching pad!

My husband took today off, so it was nice to not be totally alone with the kids on day 2 of summer. Well, I feel like I have a summer cold. I'm a little out of it. You know that foggy feeling behind your face...and feeling like the last thing you can do all day is take care of three kids alone.

I made them a wonderful lunch, because I am Superwoman! LOL. Mexican for all of them. Then it was naptime. So, I put a show on for the little ones so they could have some quiet time and I quickly fell asleep. One was snuggled behind my knees (always touching..lol), another on the other couch, and one on the floor. All of a sudden, I woke up. I felt something strange. There he was. Spiderman was balanced on my hip bone ( I was on my side) and then he took a flying leap off my body to the floor. I was in shock. Before I could say anything....He was up on me again. Woosh...He flew off again. That's right friends, I've become just another launching pad.

He had a great excuse. I had told him not to jump off the couch...and Mommy isn't a couch. So, what's wrong he wanted to know? Such logic! This all came after he (four years old) ran out to me naked from the bathroom to show me his penis that had "growed"!!!! That's right friends...a boy erection at 4 1/2! The pediatrician told me not to worry the last time it kept "growing", but ugh...we had a talk about how the sisters are not to see the "growing penis"!!!!! Such conversations these kids are making me have with them!

Were we such a handful?

My 10 year old princess got her bangs cut! We have been in the growing the bang out phase forever and it's been driving me crazy. I know, I know, pick your battles! This is one just got under my skin. I know I never was such a pain at 10. I mean, come on, I was a naive 10 year old. My daughter was explaining what a lesbian is to my 6 year old. Yes, that had me spitting my drink out of my mouth when hubby and I heard that one. Soooooo....she is a straight A student. She is gifted and a miracle (my 17 surgery girl who was a 31 week preemie.) She's precious and really good. However, she tells ME I don't know about style!!!!!!! What?! Me!!!!!? No way! Has it come to that? I don't need to be a "cool" mom, but come on....not know about style. UGH.

Ok...so she was backtalking. You know, when girls just don't know when to stop. So, I warned her. I warned her again....and finally told her that if she kept it up I'd cut her bangs. (Yes hoping she'd keep it up..bad I know.) Well, she granted my wish and kept it up! Wooohooo!!!!! Her hair was going to be trimmed...and look sweet again. And so it happened...she cried, but it was ok. I sucked it up with a smile. Oooooh and she looks so nice. I told her how cleaned up it looked...and she told me she LOVED it! She didn't know why we didn't do her hair like that sooner! DUH!!!

It's fixed...

So, I fixed my three in a row. However, the damn post is gone all together. I just wanted one to stay. Well, the kids are home and Summer is here. They're crazy wild summer kids. LOL. I know for a fact I wasn't this crazy to my mom. :) Let's just not ask my mom.

Well, now it's time to get the bathing suit and a wax. Ugh....where does time go. I swear I was just wearing my pink Uggs in the snow. Time is flying and it's almost my birthday.

Well, he doesn't like the Hybrid. I didn't see that coming..lol. Yeah right. He liked it, but it wasn't what he wanted. Soooooo I think he's back looking at the Acura. Men and their cars.

Happy Monday...

Today has already given me one child faking sick on the second to last day of school, a husband ready to buy a new car, and another Star Wars DVD with the boy. After I took the non sick one to school, I am finally enjoying a cup of coffee.

So, I guess we're going to buy a car today...(i'm working on getting him to look at a hybrid..and if you knew my hubby you'd be cracking up.) Yes, I am the more liberal, green one of us..lol. When I really was fed up with the war and him being on tour #2 to Iraq...I just threatened to put a Kerry for President sign in the yard. LOL. Yep I just laughed. I know how to get to him. LOL. I'm a total smartass. He wants an SUV (trading in the Volvo) and I'm talking Hybrid. Yes. Don't even get me started on Nashville not giving residents Recyclers! Even the military bases given their residents, on base, recyclers! Ok, I digress.

Now, don't go feeling sorry for the hubby. He knows I'm a handful.

Wow..35!

I can't believe in 15 days, June 6, I'm going to be 35. When did that happen? Ok, so if 40 is the new 30, does that mean 35 can be the equivilant of 25? LOL...Well, I hope not. I love my 30's more than my mid 20's. I must admit, I'm getting better with age.

I am wistful of the years gone by, but one can't live in the past. I'm glad for all my success, my mistakes...my life. It's been quite a ride, so far. I wonder what the adventure holds. If you would have told me I'd be 35 and living in Nashville a few years ago, I'd say you were high! However, this time of my life is giving me some of the sweetest memories yet.

I wish for a wonderful new year. I hope to weed out the hurt of and lows of 34 and move on to the sweetest time yet. :) I'm the eternal optimist, it's got to be good for something.

Ok Ok..enough of me being deep about superficial age. LOL..My coffee hasn't kicked in yet, either has the zoloft. LOL!!!!!!! So, let me curl up with my coffee and paper, while the kids are outside looking at the veggies Mommy is trying to grow. Spiderman is really taken with Starwars, and the Princesses are already wearing the cute little outfits we got yesterday. They are such little fashion cuties, just like the Mommy.

Ok friends, I'm off to the coffee...and let me just share they carried in a dead worm just now! ICK! I'm off to my day...Happy Sunday.

I can't believe I did it...

I actually bought my son, Spiderman, the Star Wars trilogy today. The girls were at school and everytime he saw a SW commercial on tv he'd ask me if I tivo'd SW. It went on for days. So, I said...fine...let's go get the DVD. Well, they don't just sell one DVD. It's the trilogy. So, yes, I spent $45 for them (last one in stock.) On our way out we walked past the SW section in the toys. You can already see it coming....huh? "Mommy I need the light saber," he begged. Fine Fine Fine. I guess he deserves one boy toy for every 5 Barbies in the house. LOL. I'm a sucker.

Now, he's upstairs standing on my bed watching his dvds and doing the SW light saber dance..lol. Yes, the one I made fun of yesterday! See....karma just came and bit me in the ass.

A few thoughts for today...

I was watching the news last night and theyhad guys dressed up as Star Wars characters and doing choreographed Light Saber dances, for loss of a better word. Riddle me this...what kind of person camps out for days, dresses like their favorite Jedi character, and then performs the "routine" with a light saber before Star Wars opens? They're a bunch of geeks. These guys are officially tied with the people who dress up and go to Star Trek conventions! LOL. It's just the funniest thing. Where do they get so much time? Do they work? Go to school? LOL...I'm sure they brought their wireless computers,Macs of course, to play SW games while they waited.

I do have a good memory. It was 76 or 77 and it was the original Star Wars. My mom and her girlfriend (single hotties) were going out, so I was getting babysat by the girfriend's son and his friend. We watched Star Wars at Manns Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The guys were aspiring film makers. They taped the movie with a tape recorder. It was too funny. I remember it to this day. It was quite the life I had growing up. I am a lucky girl. It didn't hit me until this morning that I, too, had special Star Wars memories...but you won't see me dressing up like Princess Leah and camping out. Although, the thought of the sexy Princess Leah costume would be fun...lol.

Summer is here...

Well today was Spring/Summer cleaning. LOL. Wow...I got in the nooks and crannies. I just finished and it's 8:30. I am here to tell you that under my couches are clean, under the cushions are clean, there isn't a thing under my bed, the kids rooms are immaculate......and they're all bathed and in bed. I feel good. Don't you love it when everything is just right. I have always have a clean house, but this is clean clean we're talking. Ok, I have to admit I have the carpet cleaners coming tomorrow, so they will be under things and everywhere...lol. So, there was a method to my madness.

Now the hubby is tinkering with the surround sound. UGH...lol. Just what we need. Men and their gadgets. I'm ready to finally relax and he's tinkering.

I have to get things together, because my kids are on Summer Vacation as of Tuesday. Can you believe it? Another school year has come and gone. Time is flying. It feels like only yesterday I was studying for finals at U of A and planning a summer of sun and the beach. Mmmmm I can't believe that my oldest is going into 5th grade and my baby is going to be in PreK.

Life is too short to dwell on the past. Living for today and tomorrow is where it's at. :)
