Who Knew....?
According to my one of my web addictions (besides perezhilton.com and tmz.com lol..yep I'm a loser) RealAge.Com .....
Wake Up and Smell the Peppermint
Feel like you're in a food coma after a week of Thanksgiving leftovers? Get a whiff of this.
The scent of peppermint is like a drill sergeant, telling your brain to "Wake up and focus!" New research shows that you pay better attention to dull-but-must-do jobs when this scent is around. So the next time you're mentally sluggish, grab a candy cane, chew a stick of peppermint gum, or inhale the scent of mint-infused oil, and then listen to your brain say, "Can do!"
Why didn't I know about this during those mornings after being up all night with the little ones? A little peppermint and I'd be totally on task! LOL!!!!
Hmmm...I wonder if a yummy Starbucks would work. Maybe they even paid to have this put out right now to sell more of the Starbucks Peppermint Lattes..lol! No, but it does make me crave for one right about now.
Ok..maybe a candle would work instead of a $4 500 calorie latte. It just wouldn't taste as good. :)
Happy Peppermint Filled Monday!!!!

Our Favorite Wiggle
Poor Greg!
Thanks for the memories Greg. You have been the favorite for years in my house. The kids may have outgrown the whole Wiggles thing, but you still are loved. You have brought song, 3 concerts, and me buying dvds along with cds in obscene amounts for the kids.
You're irreplacable. My kids are sad and concerned. I'm sending you their wishes..and good luck! We have our pictures and I as the mommmy will always think of you as I hear the Stairway To Heaven riff, that you all do so well for the parents during concert.
Cho Cho Chugga Chugga...Greg...Always...

Gobble Gobble....
First of all...I'm sorry for all the whining lately!
Next...What are you doing tomorrow?!!! I have a full list.
- Turkey to cook.
- Ads in the paper to read.
- Last minute shopping to finish online.
- A date with the girls to watch the Macy's Day Parade.
- Football to watch.
- UofA vs ASU!!!!! We are almost Bowl bound, but I won't jinx it!
- Dinner and Pumpkin Pie to eat.
- An after dinner slow to power walk...lol.
Besides that...I'm up for anything good that might happen.
I miss my family. I miss my mom and dad, sisters....grandma and mother in law...friends. Everyone.
Ok...so if you haven't defrosted that Turkey...then get on it! Make your pumpkin pies tonight, otherwise the ovens will be be too busy for you to get that done. You need plenty of time for them to cool.
Happy Cooking...Happy Family Time...
Happy Thanksgiving my friends....

Doctor...Doctor....
I know I need to go, but it just sucks.
Some of you hate the word sucks..I know...but it does.
My brain is all over the place these days. I'm not sure what to make of it.
Why is it so hard for me to use the phone these days. I can't explain it.
Picking it up is soooooooo hard. I know it will pass, but when.
I remember when my blog was my space. I didn't have to worry about what I typed.
Now I do. It's not just for my eyes..or anonymous eyes.
It's a place for people who I know to go to read up on my innermost thoughts. Crazy.
I know....
Anyway...I'm off to rest the cells. I'm off today. I know I am. I feel it.
K is just really sick. She's at school, but her kidney is just not working like it should. I don't have to be alone, but I'm afraid to pick up the damn phone. I know I'm not allergic to people, but it feels as if I am. I am so stressed about K that I don't what else to do. Ok...off to make an appointment for me. K is going in a few days for scans.
And so the fun begins.....

You Know You're Not a Young One Anymore WHEN..
- You get your hair done and two days later there's a sprout of some light colored hair coming through. Oh and it's not blond!
- You wake up in the morning and you're able to feel all those muscles you didn't know you had, because you "slept wrong."
- The lovely oldest daughter has a cycle that is in sync with you...and she comes home and tells you a boy asked her to her first dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really in the feeling old dept.
- You need a touch of concealer to hold up the face a little more.
- The youngest daughter is feeling your skin and goes between the eybrows and asks "What are those lines mommy?"
- I call my youngest sister to ask her size. She wants to know if I'm buying her clothes for Christmas. I can hear the cringe over the phone. I swear to you I do have style and taste! She sweetly tells me not to get her any clothes that she'll have to return. LOL. Love it!
- Finally you know you're not a young one anymore when you hear your mother come out of your mouth while you're yelling for the daughter to turn down the MTV, because you can't handle that crap anymore!
Now...I don't feel OLD. I'm just well aware I'm not in my 20s anymore. LOL....!
Ok..off to sip some coffee to wake my old ass up.

Is There a Pediatric Urologist or Nephrologist In The House?!!!!!!!!!!!
Fuck Fuck Fuck!
She told me her side was hurting last night. Of course those are trigger words for me. My gutt knows, but my brain is sending the Tylenol words to my lips. Bedtime comes for the kids and she's still hurting. She woke up this morning and I put her back to bed.
I haven't been here long enough to find a really good doctor. She has her pediatrician, but for some reason I haven't been able to hook up with a good urologist or nephrologist. That my friends is the goal for today. I'm off to google to find our new friend. I will not go to one that is condensending, like the one from Vanderbilt.
If you want to know strength...you need to meet my girl. :) She's amazing.

Christie Pick's Of The Day....
Friends, I'm serious. This is the most amazing waxing product. You take the little tub of wax out of the package. Open it up and pop it in the microwave in 2 minute cycles...until melted. Use the sticks in pack for applying...and then take some cloth, provided wipe over hot wax on unwanted hair...eybrow...and poof....it's gone. I swear by this!!!!!!!
My brows looks soooooooo good and this stuff gets them.
Totally a bargain and you should try it!
My Pick Of The Day!
Monday Monday...
NO CLUE ABOUT THE FINGERS..lol. She did say PEACE. LOL. My girl, who informed her father ( a marine) and me that she was indeed a pacifist. Well, ok then.
My Baby Mocha. We call him Moochs, too. Soooo cute, don't you think?
Ava earned her little soccer girl trophy. We'll be doing spring soccer, because she loved it so much.
What a dreary raining weekend. We lost power for 5 hours yesterday. Go figure. LOL. I don't remember losing power like this in Cali, during my entire life. CRAZY!
Finally...my book. I've just finished
Running With Scissors, by Augusten Burroughs. Quite distubing...to say the least. I am not one to be offended or taken back easily. This book was a difficult read. I'm sure it was the molestation aspect of it that left me sick, but it was more the way it was written. It's a memoir. It happened. The mental illness, the craziness, the lunatics, "love affair"...or lack of love. I guess it just took me in a direction that I wasn't even prepared to go down.
Ok..on that bright note...I'm back to my coffee.

Change!
Well the vote are almost all counted. Wow! What a night for a total news junky like me. The only thing missing was my sister and mom to watch it with. It was exciting and just completely exhilerating. A change! All I wanted was a chance for change!
Let's see if we can make it count!
Yes, I am a military wife. Yes, my husband has been to war. Yes, he trains his guys for war.
I just wanted a change. NO cutting and running.....! I love Jim Webb. He's a former Marine, with Generals lining up behind him supporting him. He is for the military! He's thisclose to winning the election! Go Jim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With that I will leave you to finish my coffee.

Go on you guys..get out there and let's change this country! I'm tired of the status quo...so I voted! There!

That hole has been creeping around here again. You'd think I'd find some repel equiptment for those trips in that never ending deep drop.
Don't know where to VOTE...then CLICK HERE! It's a great site to look for the measures on your ballot in your area.
- Call a friend...go together. Get coffee after.
- Call your mom, dad, sisters...remind them!
- If you know people not registered, then we need to get these people registered for next time.
- If you're not registered...ugh! We'll get you registered, too. It's soooo easy.

Look at this picture of my sweet little nephew. His nickname is Mudge.
Curious Mudge...
Couldn't you just eat him up?!!!! I'll get to see the sweet boy during Christmas and can't wait!
Hope you're all staying warm. Oh, and did I mention my addiction to the Yankee Candles? Yep...addicted. I'll never buy another scented candle again. They are worth the extra money. They burn forever and you can smell them. I'm burning Berry Crumble right now. Yummm.

Do you go all out for Halloween?
This year we will have a baby, spiderman, and yes an 80s girl. HOly crap...has enough time passed that kids think it's a great idea? to dress up like those crazy looking 80s girls? Wow. My daughter came in and told me in the old days..back in the 80s (gulp)the girls were so into making their butts look big! Excuse me!!!!!! Oh yeah! According to my 12 year old...we loved pants high up around our waists and that's how we had big butts. No wonder, she pondered, there was a big butts song! LOL...yeah really funny. Ugh!
"Hey Mommy...I'm going up to your closet for some 80s ideas!" The miss priss cackled.
Joy! She brang down this sweater (that i actually like) and put on with her black leggings. She just needed some shoulder pads and we'll rat the hair with a little (lot) hair spray. LOL. So there you go...I'm from the Old Days!
Off to get some things together for her Oldtimer outfit!

Friday 13th A Week Late
- Oldest missed her bus by a minute.
- That lead me into chasing the bus down in my minivan! Ummm Didn't work!
- Ordered the children to find the boy's missing shoe and get to the car in heartbeat.
- Signed all that needed to be signed.
- Went for coffee to bring in the car....ummmm forgot to press the on button.
- etc.
- etc.
- etc.
You all know it just keeps going on and on...
So, now I"m sipping coffee. Just got off the phone with the Kindergarten teacher who thinks I probably lost my f-ing mind. LOL...yep..forgot to pack his lunch money, but thankfully he has money on his tickets (lunch tickets.)
Now I get to fight the Electric company for the money pit, because of a misread on the electric bill. LOL...Yep.
Happy Day..

Worth A Read
Wednesday, October 18, 2006
What a day...
Just enjoy whatever view you have near you. It's worth it. I promise.
Notice all the Power Ranger gear..and Lego Star Wars 2 for his XBox.
Yesterday was wonderful. My boy turned 6. I felt like the hole I'd been in was at least a mile away. I turned out to be quite the mommy with the perfect gifts for the boy. Do you remember Power Rangers? They, like so many other things, are back!
Well I'm off now. I need a nap. I went shopping all morning. (I know..poor me..lol) So now It's time for the mommy to relax before everything starts at 3 when the little ones arrive.

Happy Birthday Baby!
In honor of the birthday boy...his favorite song, by THE WHO! LOL...you should see him sing this song! I need it on video.
I can't believe I have all three children in school. My baby is 6 today. He amazes me every single day. Last night when he was running up and down the soccer field, and enjoying it, I just smiled. My baby is growing up.
Time just flies. Ejoy it and soak it as much as you can.
I have the presents bought, wrapped, and ready for cake and ice cream tonight.
He woke up to his birthday morning...big in my house...and he's off to school to wear the birthday crown.
He's so cute! (PS...don't even start about the white socks. The black ones were in the dryer..lol)

MOMMY YOU'RE NOT THAT OLD YET...
I'm not Thaaaat old, yet. LOL. Oh just wait. We're doing the how old will you be when games. So very good for my soul.
Let's see...
Another soccer game and this mom screwed up the oranges at halftime. Yep. I did apples and was quickly told how soooooo not ok that was for many reasons. I managed the after game snack and drinks...so give me a break. I tried.
Next, why do some parents get so f-ing crazy at under 7 league soccer games? I'm clueless. Ugh. It's rather disgusting.
I'm watching The Last Samurai right now. I've never seen it and I love it! Love it!
Happy Birthday to you...
Hmmmm....The Home Sweet Home Yankee Candle is what is lit in my living room right now. Yumm.

To Give Advice...or Not...Now that's the Question!
Two of my favorite READS broke up a while ago. I've never met one of them...ok. LOL. You just need to read them both to realize how special these two are to one another. He still loves her. Sigh......
It's moment I always talk about. It's the one where if the call was made or the trip taken...what might have been. Sigh..... again. :)
I love a good love story. Don't you?
Love to you all my friends...

I LEFT MY DAMN CAMERA AT HOME!
CRAP CRAP CRAP! The boy had a fabulous soccer game! FABULOUS!
The only problem is that I left my camera at home! HORRIBLE! Back to the fabulous... He had a great time. Here's the great part...HE MADE HIS FIRST GOAL!!!!
Here's another funny thing from the boy.
"Hey Mommy I asked the HOTTIE Girl to come to my park," said very a matter of factly by the boy.
"Who's the Hottie Girl hunny," said the mommy in her floored voice.
"She's Sarah and mommy....she's such a hottie...and my girlfriend," announced the boy proudly.
That's about all I've got today.

It's a gorgeous house, but the damn buyers just want so many little things done, and of course we're so tired of owning it...we'll do almost anything to get rid of it at this point.
Let's just recap the last few homes we've owned and give me your best guess to the following question.
Which one looks to be the more expensive home?!!!!! Anyone...
Below you'll notice a nice little colonial that has 2400sq ft, built in 93. New carpet, paint, HVAC and new roof repairs. LOL...oh and did I mention new lightbulbs, per the buyer's request. LOL...
This little beauty is a southern California gem. Tiny...but a gem. It's a three bedroom with all new tile downstairs. New carpet is upstairs. Fabulous paint. The house is about 1436 sq ft. LOL...a little smaller huh? LOL. Oh you'll notice the tiny little backyard.
Ok...well the answer is....the little gem on the bottom went for 150k more than the one on top. Lovely..huh?!
Soooooo now i'll just enjoy my ocean view and my fabulous house I'm in now. The house is sold and I get to enjoy this one in peace.
The happy dance can begin...The house is soooolllld. The house is soooollllddd!

- "Hunny while I was out I bought you this"...To which he gave me a velvety box with a gorgeous rolo necklace. Shocked me!
- "Hunny you're going to have a gift delivered on Monday. Want to know what it is?" Here it is my friends...from my hubby who's wanting to get creative. The Gift. (it's a sexy toy..so don't click if you're going to be offended.)

So, all I can say is Chicka chicka bow bow...chicka chicka bow bow...lol. Trust me if I let him get the camcorder out...i bet he would. LOL.

- I've had too much coffee this morning.
- The windows are open this morning, and the weather is perfect!
- I keep avoiding making the Gyno appointment for the mass on the ovary. Ugh!
- A vacation sounds perfect right now.
- Sometimes People.com is the first sight I read every morning.
- I'm craving some good yoga.
- My kids both have a soccer game at the same time and different places on Saturday. There's only one of me, because the hubby is out of town. Clueless how to handle it.
- Grey's Anatomy is on tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I hope Elizabeth is pregnant with Jason's baby. LOL! GH reference.
- I feel the need to do a little shopping.
- Rise and Shine by Anna Quindlen is perfect for the daytime read.
- I've peed more times today by 10:30 than most people do in a day! Fuck!
- Hmmmm....I wonder what book will be next on my reading list?

I did the Ross/Marshalls/TJ Max thing. Hmmmm I chose one, Ross. They're all in the same mall. Ok, after the cart was full..I just walked away. I found cute things, but just wasn't in the mood to buy. Do you ever do that?
Sooooo....today was Soccer day. Hmmm which day isn't Soccer day? That would be Friday and Sunday. LOL.
I need to find someone to do my hair here. It needs color and highlights. I have a few of those non my color strands coming in! I refuse to say the name of the color. It makes me feel old. LOL.
Well...just wishing I could have a girlfriend's lunch with some of you. Can you believe it's almost October!!!!!? Holy Crap! Where is time going.

Monday Monday...
They're all off to school and it's me left here with the pups, my coffee, clean house, and my thoughts. I really have to figure this alone time thing. LOL..however, according to Jewl...I should just take a nap. LOL..maybe I just will.
Finally, note to the bus driver...
My sun was kicked, punched and stepped on during the ride home on Friday. So, rather than yelling at him and sending him to the office...how about asking what happened. Stupid ass! Snapping of your fingers, like you told me you did to him, isn't the wisest or most sensible way to communicate with a 5 year old! (yes he is my boy and he isn't an angel..but what the fuck! he gets the shit hit out of him and cries and she threatens him? bitch)
Ok...back to shaking my money maker..LOL.

Things to do...
Just breathe.
Try and smile when life is feeling a little too much.
Walk. Walk. Walk.
Breathe Some More.
Call an old friend.
Only dwell on the what ifs for the smallest of moments.
Follow the what if dwelling with a memory of joy.
Try and find the sexy part of me. It's in here somewhere...isn't it?
Sip a yummy cup of coffee.
Dance some more. I've already danced in the kitchen with A this morning.
Hmmm....oh and curl up to my Grey's Anatomy that I Tivo'd.
Anyone doing anything good...:)

I've lost myself. I'm plugging away with life and doing all kinds of things with the kids, but when they're at school I'm having moments of "WHAT NOW?" It's that fine line. I'm happy they're all in school, however now I need to figure out what my place is in the big picture. Ok...Ok...I only have from 8AM until 3PM to figure out my world! LOL...Yes, the rest of my life is pretty booked.
Enough of that. :)
I need to figure out the blog template. My computer is now working..I needed to order another battery. Did that and now I'm plugged in again.
Happy Wednesday my friends!

Yes...I'm happy.
Very happy. It's just been a loooonnnnnggggg summer. A major move. Ernesto and my house. The other house still on the market. (BTW..we're thinking of renting it out after all of this craziness. Input...please.)

Poor Thing!
She's totally BUMMED! My girl has been waiting for the cast to come off for 6 long long weeks. We took her in yesterday and the Orthopedic doctor told her she needed a NEW cast for another 3 weeks.
The most upsetting part of it was that the cast is BLACK! She was pissed they didn't have a choice of colors like they did at Children's in Denver. She went from cute hot pink to black.
Look at that face. Soooo sweet, beautiful...and pissed about black! LOL.

HERE COMES THE SUN....
Porch View
My Swing (Can you seee it?)
Same View From The Dining Room....Sweet isn't it?
Due to my Mama D comments..lol. As much as I'd like her to come and take a peek for herself..I guess I'll just post a few a day. I'm completely moved in to the house. I love it here. The house needs some decorating. It needs color! You'll notice all the white. The funny thing is that in person the white has character. All the paned windows fabulous old molding around the doors. The wood floors have been kept up with each family. I'm sure they've been redone a few times, but the original wood is here.
We have the ocean on one side...ok actually the York River...but we're right next to it feeding into the Atlantic. Yorktown is where the American Revolution was won. It's an amazing little spot where an amazing piece of History took place. Across that river in the pictures, is where Cornwallis took his stand against Washington. I live where Washington and his army won the last battle of the war. Just a little piece of info for you all. If I got any of that wrong my teachers out there will let me know..I'm sure. :)
Dining Room (Decorating to be done...)
Living Room
Golf View from that window in the living room. Look beyond that first tree line. :) Golf view.

School clothes and a Glimpse!
Mama D...here's a little glimpse at the living room and one of the doors to the sunroom. I know I know..I've sucked with the pictures lately. I think it's because I HATE my camera.
Here, my friends, are just a couple of pictures of the girls. You will notice thier "Stylish" ensembles. Yes, those are leggings under the skirt. It's what they're wearing. LOL. They gave me a full on fashion show, but I couldn't take pics of all the outfits. If I did...then I'd have to hear all the different combinations they could do with all their clothes. OH MY! The mini me girlies.
School isn't until the 5th. ONE MORE WEEK! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!
Friday, August 25, 2006
Right this very second.....
- The kids are screaming at the top of their lungs. Yep..chasing the dogs...running back and forth (mommy it's too hot outside), oh taking a moment between snacks 15 and 16 of the day. Ok, not really 15 and 16 but it seems like that many.
- Now the kids are chasing one another for the right to handcuff the other one! Lovely!
- I'm watching this group of guys on the golf course playing speed golf.
- I'm waiting for the Orange Glo'd floors in the hall to dry! They look soooo cute!
- I'm breathing slowing in order to not feel the urge to take a Valium!
- Also trying not to stress the fact that we took another 10K off the house. We're getting pretty close to just giving the house away.
- Hmmmmm What Else.....
- Watching my Ava dance to London Bridge....that song is slightly disturbing..for my 7 year old to be dancing to.
- Now I'm going back to reading "The World Is Flat."

- What did you do for your Summer Vacation?! I need a vacation. I find these especially on Today or GMA.
- Bare Esentuals. Hmmmmm I wonder if swirling and tapping and buffing can give me a better complection. Hmmm? My sisters swear by the swirling powder.
- Record Heat! No explaining necessary.
- Last and Not NOt Not Least...The Suite Life of Zach and Cody. That is the Tivo show of choice with the kids.

I'm from California. Coastal Cali, for that matter...and I'm not used to this. I've had the trash gone through about 7 times until we discovered the bungie cord to keep it closed. LOL.

I DON'T GET IT!
Here's my boy and his self portrait. LOL. Ok, back to my confusion. How is it that 5 year olds can be on "hardcore" soccer teams? I'm at a loss. My husband tells me I'm easy on the whole competitive thing. Shouldn't they just have fun? They're sooooo serious about soccer here for the 5 year olds. There are some little kicking machines out there. They're going to win, ball hog, slide and steal from their own team. I'm getting used to this whole mom of a boy thing. (5 years in) He doesn't know what to make of the whole mean team thing. I was proud of him, though..he told one boy he wasn't sharing. LOL. Oh well..I know...I'm stressing the small stuff. Oh and if I didn't make this clear...my boy is soooo far from being a wuss. He's a tough little dude. I just wasn't expecting this kind of team.
At least he's not like his oldest sister. I remember when she was 5 and was playing. She stood near the goal during games singing Britney Spears songs, along with some cute little moves. Needless to say, she didn't make it many years with the fall madness..lol.
So, today's the princess's day to begin with her new team. She is so not like me...she won't take crap from the boys on her team...so they better be nice..lol. Yes....Co-Ed Teams.
Finally...SOMEONE BUY MY HOUSE! It's a great deal, gorgeous, great schools, great investment property..lol...New Carpet, New Pain, New Air Conditioner....hmmmm yep we're basically giving it away. LOL.
That's about all I have. Me stressing about small stuff and the house. SO, I guess life is pretty good. :)

Friday thoughts....
- Kids are ready to go back to school Sept 5th!!!!!!! Wooo hoooo!
- Soccer starts on Monday. One has practice M&W and the other T&Th. Games are on Saturday. LOL. Busy Busy.
- The oldest is doing Swim Team Development. That's right ...more.
- Quick thought...I did girl scouts (free) and was happy. Hmmm wait, no,my mom had me in Acting classes in LA, repatory theatre at South Coast Plaza...dance, and ok they were busy too..lol. WOW...I forgot all of that.
- I'm completely and totally unpacked.
- As I watch "What Not To Wear" I'm thinking how totally frumpy I am these days. Oh and the few little pieces of gray hair...suck! I need a serious colorist!
- I need some friends here or I'm going to go out of my fucking mind in solitude. LOL.
- Anything else...hmmm....oh yes...How do I find another Dr. Calm?!
- Oh and take a look at my baby Mocha. He looks nothing like my fluffy baby. Let's just say I will be finding another groomer. He's been traumatized...LOL. Poor Mochs.

Home Sweet Home..
My hubby really found us an amazing home. It's beautiful. We have a view of the golf course in the front and a view of the ocean. It's tranquil and perfect. I love it here.
Ok, off to finish my room. Computers are hooked up and now to find my camera computer cord. LOL.
Hmmm...maybe a picture or two might be on the way!

Tales From The Money Pit Part 4
On a quick recap...here it goes. First new paint (all one neutral color all through the house.) Then it was new carpet through the entire house. Lovely, I know. Let's not forget the fact that we had to have a friend go in and unclog the toilet and change some filters for us. Finally....the air conditioner...is fried. LOL. If we don't laugh we'd just cry. LOL. Hopefully we can get the $2,000 covered with the HVAC contract or with the home warranty. The paint and the carpet are in...soooooo hopefully this will be gone soon!
Hopefully we don't have any money pit reports....:)
