Christmas...Mecca...and a Goat

Christmas...Wow.
What a difference a year makes. Last year I was in a crappy place. I felt alone, lost, and just trying to figure out where my place was in the world. Yep...I was a young 30 and lost. Well, here I am a year later...and I couldn't have imagined the bright at the end of another year. Thanks friends for sharing your blogs, thoughts, and laughs with me.

Ok...so now, who the F**k knew that finding Legos would be impossible! Ok, well I do have some now, but it took a week! I had it in my shopping cart on amazon 3 times and it was taken out right before buying it! Ugh! Ok...finally, boy in tow I ventured out to where? You got it babies. I went to Mecca! I drove up and the T bullseye just drew me inside for a pilgrimage.

My gingerbread latte called to me. Yummmy. Then I told the boy if he promised to not run and lose himself in the toys I would let him get something special (you guys know the $1 bins at the front? :) So, sipping my latte I ventured into the girly section. I picked up some gloves for me, picked up some more goodies, and put things back after reevaulating my allowance. Hmmmm...toys toys...I needed to get to the toys. I just wanted to make sure to check out the toys. I love my Brand New T!

Right there...alone...all alone on the bottom shelf, I could see one tub of 50th Edition Legos! Hot Damn! Of course I just figured out how to hide it under the coats so the boy didn't see the total boy gift! Then I just wandered to the Christmas ornaments...housewares...candles....mmmmmm.

Get this! I got out of there for only $38! I'm good...Yes, I am.

Oh and let me just add this. All of this happened after I called the hubby at work and told him that he could just buy a goat or some chickens for a village in Africa for my Christmas gift. (an oprah show) I was quickly told he didn't have time for my manic moments. I was serious, but a nice little wrapped something, would be greatly appreciated too. :)

  1. Gloves! ahhhh that's what I keep forgetting to get when I go to the store, I am reminded every time I go out to shovel the walk in my bare hands. UGH You sipped a latte while shopping? WOW now that's a store, most I go into don't want you drinking anything for fear of spilling it.

  2. I'm glad things are brighter for you this year! A good successful shopping trip to the Big T doesn't hurt either! WTG on finding the LEGOS! My new book has arrived at Barnes and Noble, I'm headed there to get it this evening and they have a Starbucks, gonna have to try the Gingerbread Latte! YUM

  5. I was thinking some of those big chunky legos would be a good gift for Zachary too this year. Amazon was quite dissapointing this year. They just got me my last shipment today (at least it's early enough) but 2 of my items could not be sent because they wont have them in stock. Which now means, of course, I must venture out anyways to find them at the stores!!! I guess I didn't luck out as much as I did last year, and still am going to be that last minute shopper!! hehehehe

Good job on spotting those legos too, I hope it's not that tough for me!!

  6. Okay, you are a better girl than me. I have a confession to make... and what perfect timing. I think you will laugh.

My mom buys gifts like that. Goats. No kidding. So anyway, one year that's all I got and I guess I was a bit bummed though I shouldn't be cause dang I have a lot of crap. But yesterday I was telling Pat cause I we said just one present (but not a goat) and I really meant it cause we have no money, and told him how bad I felt for not being more happy about it when I got it. I should have been. That's a great thing and they have nothing. I'm so selfish. Anyway, I was saying what a great idea it was and how bad I felt and we should do that more (but include a small gift too). And then you pop up with this. Hee. You're so great Christie...

Enjoy your goat. :) :) :) Do hope you get a scarf or some massage oil too though!!!
