Send in the Marines!

For the last few days we've all been watching the devastation. Hubby and I keep saying they just need to send in the Marines. They're the ones that bail this country and others out in a heartbeat. They have the training, the means and are quick to mobilize.

The Marines are a contained unit. In a battalion you'll find helipcopters, boats and Amphibious Vehicles....food, water, medics...everything. They have enough to last for weeks if sent into battle...or life saving as in needed in New Orleans.

Jewl, probably knows, as well as I do...and Bethy's sister...they send them in when all else fails. Thank God...literally for this fine force. I'm not sure how many infantry battalions they're sending in, but throughout the day we'll know.

Candy Man had to draw up some briefs on the assets he has. I'm sure he won't go. It looks like they're going full force. My hubby is a Major (active duty)...but here in Nashville he overseas the reserves components. He and his superiors are all active. So, they really know what something like this takes. They PRACTICE MISSIONS LIKE THIS!

I continue to pray. I mean really pray on my knees. This is America. WE can airlift and drop food to Tsunami victims in 2 days...get tent cities built in a heart beat...and we need to get this taken care of!

God Bless all these people. Please God feed them and get them where they need to be. Bless the souls who have died in this horrific disaster. God Bless Everyone struggling to stay alive and waiting still to be saved. Wrap your arms around them, protect them...and please God give them peace. Please Lord..give strength to all the men and women volunteering. They need your guidance, your strength...patience.

Ok..so it took me an hour to type this. I don't have any wit left right now. Maybe I'll be better after coffee. I just want to pack up my car and bring them something. To thing this is America and we can't figure this out yet. Ok..I'm done. My brain is hurting.

CAt....I'm soooo glad you're well and in one piece! Your homes seem to have held up too. Sooooo soooo happy for you!
Love,
Christie

Great post, Christie! I agree. I did see something on MSNBC today about sending in troops...but not until Monday it sounds like. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9186823

I am praying as you are. (hugs)
And I'm working on getting hooked up with other bloggers to help out in any way.

I second Choppz: oohrah!! my hubby used to work for an amphibious assault unit. Liza, they're basically vehicles that can go on land or shallow water ;)

I know the INI station in Cincinnati is sending guys down to help with the base in New Orleans. Most of these guys just got back from Iraq not too long ago.

I emailed Keith in Iraq and asked him if he knew what was going on here... We talked about Bush sending in the Marines, glad it has finally happened. For now I think Marshal Law needs to be put into effect as well. Let the Marines handle it, it's there job and they are the best...
Major huh? Geeez, I am just a poor Gunny's wife! LOL

It is all so unfortunate. The Marines would kick some major butt if they could get in there. I just hope and pray everyone gets help and soon.

I feel bad for everyone being "sent" right now. One of our friends who has REALLY been struggling since she got back from the gulf (anorexia and now her hubby walked out) was just "sent" down there for a few months because she is in the Guard... again she has to walk away from her children into a nightmare she will never be able to erase. And the timing... as her life is falling apart... awful. I know it has to be done, but still... I'm hurting so badly for her. They didn't even give her notice. :'(

Just feeling so arggghh this week...

Great Post Christie! It is about time they are getting the folks that can really do something in there. My heart hurts for everyone touched by this and pray for healing and peace.
